WHAT'S BLOOMING IN THE GARDEN

Monday August 11, 2008

I thought I could go out to the beds and try to compile a list of what is still bloomin but… there is so much still bloomin
All the mid’s are out and some of the mid to lates are just starting
So I thought I’d pick my favourites and go from there
Sun Blossom is a tall, very fragrant simple yellow Island Music- A terrific lavender that is holding its colour
Bama Belle- Incredibly tall pink
In Fair Verona- Lavender with a darker eye, fairly short
Ornate Ruffles- near white with a ruffled edge
Hot Ember- nice mix of orange and red, stands out in the garden
Caribbean Abigail’s Apron- soft pink with cherry eye and yellow to green throat
Mexican Holiday and Royal Renaissance- new reds to the garden
Talking Pictures- older flower but nice colours and very fragrant
Florentine Renaissance-smaller bloom but nice colouring
Erin Lea- Huge yellow, super addition to any garden
Thunder and Lightning- describes the weather this year, dark burgundy with a darker eye and yellow throat
Victorian Lace-Just gorgeous
Polynesian Love Song- One of my favourite’s for mid to late, very formed and fragrant
Chance Encounter- A flower of substance
Totally Tropical- Calls up visions of a holiday
Passion District- Solid red
Tosca’s Song- White with a purple eye
Cherokee Pass- Orange with a cherry red eye, a nice colour change
Christmas Greetings- new to the garden but worth the space

On that note I have just been rained out of the beds --
Mary Lou
